Julie-Anna has a strong background in physical theatre, movement and improvisation. She possesses a talent for comedy and character- based work, along with a dexterity for demanding text.
With extensive training in many techniques she holds an Advanced Diploma in Stage & Screen Acting from the Australian Performing Arts Conservatory and under graduate studies from QUT, NIDA and VCA. With additional specialist training and performance experience in Lecoq, Linklater Voice Production, Stage Combat, Butoh, Suzuki and Shakespeare.
Julie-Anna has performed in many ensemble casts as well as a solo artist. She is an experienced devisor whose current interests lie in directing and writing with a focus on comedy and supporting local stories.
In 2016 a deep love of children’s picture books and a desire to produce more stimulating and engaging creative experiences for young audiences led her return to university to study Children’s Writing at RMIT.
Most recently she co-wrote, produced and performed in ‘UnGraceful: an embarrassing sketch comedy. Which had a very successful season playing at the M.C Showroom. In 2019 Julie-Anna took part in a physical theatre residency in Greece on the Island of Lesvos with the renowned DUENDE Theatre Ensemble
